Competition Rate for Busan Public and Private Kindergarten, Elementary, and Special School Teacher Exams at 3.49 to 1
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] According to the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, the application results for the ‘2023 Academic Year Public and Private Kindergarten, Elementary School, and Special School Teacher Candidate Selection Competitive Examination’ showed that 1,415 applicants applied for 406 positions, including 4 private school positions, resulting in an average competition rate of 3.49 to 1.
This is a slight decrease compared to last year’s competition rate of 3.62 to 1, when 1,623 applicants applied for 449 positions.
Looking at this year’s application details, for kindergarten teachers, 547 applicants applied for 23 general recruitment positions, and 3 applicants applied for 2 positions under the disabled category recruitment.
For elementary school teachers, 698 applicants applied for 325 general recruitment positions, and 11 applicants applied for 26 positions under the disabled category recruitment.
For kindergarten special school teachers, 47 applicants applied for 10 general recruitment positions, and 2 applicants applied for 2 positions under the disabled category recruitment.
For elementary special school teachers, 101 applicants applied for 16 general recruitment positions, and 6 applicants applied for 2 positions under the disabled category recruitment.
Regarding the age distribution of applicants, those in their 20s were the largest group with 1,114 applicants, followed by 212 in their 30s, 78 in their 40s, and 11 aged 50 and above. By gender, females numbered 1,130, significantly outnumbering males at 285. The oldest applicant was a 61-year-old female.
The Busan Office of Education plans to announce the locations of the first written exam for this appointment on November 4 at 10 a.m. on the office’s website.
Applicants must enter the exam room at the designated test site by 8:30 a.m. on the exam day, November 12, with their admission ticket and ID.
