GoPizza Opens First Indonesian Store 'CGV Grand Indonesia Branch'
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] GoPizza announced on the 12th that it has expanded to Indonesia following India, Singapore, and Hong Kong, opening its first store, ‘CGV Grand Indonesia Branch.’
According to GoPizza, Indonesia is a rising giant market in Southeast Asia with the world's 4th largest economic population. The main consumer base consists of the MZ generation, who value new experiences and are enthusiastic about the Korean Wave.
This expansion into Indonesia was made possible through a partnership with CGV, the largest multiplex chain in Korea. Currently, GoPizza is located in major CGV branches in Korea and is pioneering new markets alongside CGV’s overseas expansion. Indonesia is the first overseas market targeted jointly by the two companies.
The Grand Indonesia Mall, where the CGV Grand Indonesia Branch is located, is a large mall in the heart of Jakarta and one of the ‘Top 5 Malls in Indonesia’ selected by Forbes. It houses CGV as well as world-famous brands and dining establishments.
The main menu includes GoPizza’s steady sellers such as ‘Classic Cheese Pizza,’ ‘Beef Pepperoni Pizza,’ and the Korean chicken concept ‘Spicy K-Chicken Pizza’ made with fire sauce. GoPizza plans to captivate local tastes through localization strategies based on its existing popular menu.
Starting with the first store in Indonesia, GoPizza plans to open two additional CGV branches through further discussions and also intends to open standalone stores in downtown Jakarta.
