On the 100th Day of Minseon 8th Term, 100 Major Promises Presented Across 7 Sectors
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Kim San, the governor of Muan County, Jeonnam, reflected on the county administration over the past 100 days of the 8th elected term and presented the future direction of the county administration along with a pledge to achieve greater leaps forward.
On the 11th, marking the 100th day since the inauguration of the 8th elected term, Governor Kim San began his first schedule by participating in a breakfast campaign to promote rice consumption at the main gate of Muan High School.
At the subsequent regular meeting, he presented 100 major pledges across seven sectors to drive Muan’s development and expressed his determination to strengthen communication with the residents.
The county plans to achieve concrete results in seven areas closely related to residents’ lives?youth and jobs, balanced development, tourism, advanced agriculture, welfare and safety, education, and communication administration?to realize the vision of “A Vibrant and Happy Muan Made Together with Residents.”
In particular, through the establishment of an aviation-specialized industrial complex, the Muan-eup urban regeneration New Deal project, and rural hub revitalization projects, the county aims to create quality jobs and lay the foundation for balanced urban-rural development. Additionally, by establishing an advanced agricultural complex and the National Leafy Vegetable Research Institute, it plans to implement scientific farming and create new driving forces to prepare for the future.
The county is also actively addressing long-standing demands of new city residents by focusing regional capabilities on expanding educational infrastructure, such as the establishment of a high school in the Oryong district, and plans to attract stay-type tourists based on Muan International Airport to develop Muan into a representative tourism city in the southwest region.
To this end, during the 7th elected term, a tourist hotel was attracted to Doripo in Haeje, and on the 4th of this month, a 150 billion KRW investment agreement was signed with Numaru Co., Ltd. for the construction of a hotel and resort in the Jogumnaru area of Mangun-myeon, continuing active investment attraction efforts.
Governor Kim San, who has always valued communication and cooperation, is leading proactive communication efforts with residents to realize a county administration where residents are the owners.
Recently, to ensure democracy and transparency in fulfilling the 8th elected term pledges, 30 members were appointed to the pledge implementation evaluation group, and the county plans to finalize the implementation plan by the end of October after collecting the group’s opinions.
The budget required to fulfill the pledges is approximately 829.1 billion KRW, and the county aims to secure the budget and faithfully implement the pledges with a goal of 95% fulfillment during the term.
Governor Kim San said, “Although many achievements were made despite difficult internal and external conditions during the 7th elected term, in the 8th term, I will not be complacent with past achievements but will work with a new determination to achieve greater leaps for a better life for residents.” He added, “I hope you will continue to take great interest and affection in the county administration and join us in shaping Muan’s future together.”
