5-Month-Old Infant Found Dead in Motel Room... Parents Under Police Investigation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] A couple in their 20s who left their infant unattended in a motel room, resulting in the child's death, has been apprehended by the police.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency's Women and Juvenile Crime Investigation Unit announced on the 11th that they plan to investigate A and B (both in their early 20s) without detention on charges of child abuse resulting in death.
The couple is accused of leaving their 5-month-old child unattended at a motel in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, leading to the child's death.
It was investigated that the couple left the child alone in the room to go to work on the day of the incident.
They reported at around 6:45 a.m. on the 8th, saying "the child is not breathing," and the child was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was also conducted on the child, but the result was "cause of death unknown."
