Burger King Surpasses 3.33 Million Cumulative Sales of Two Spicy Hamburger Varieties
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Burger King announced on the 11th that the sales of the newly launched spicy hamburgers this year, ‘Texas Chili’ and the ‘Tabasco’ line, have surpassed 3.3 million units.
The Texas Chili line, which Burger King launched in June this year and sold for a limited 12 weeks, achieved cumulative sales of 2.55 million units, receiving favorable reviews for its savory spicy flavor delivered by the spicy and salty beef chili sauce. The three Tabasco hamburgers, introduced through a collaboration with Ottogi’s ‘Tabasco,’ surpassed cumulative sales of 780,000 units within 7 weeks since their release in August.
Burger King Korea is focusing on developing unique menus tailored to Korean tastes. In addition to menus exclusively released in Korea, such as the spicy burgers, Burger King also localizes menus pre-released by the headquarters to suit Korean consumers’ preferences. A representative example is the ‘Stacker Whopper,’ which allows stacking patties; upgraded versions like the ‘Guinness Stacker’ and ‘Peanut Butter Stacker’ were introduced only in Korea.
