A is accused of breaking into a home in Nongsong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, at around 5:58 a.m. that day and attempting to sexually assault a woman in her 60s.
When the woman's son woke up after hearing her scream and tried to call the police, A jumped out of a fourth-floor window of the house he had broken into. Due to the impact of the fall, he injured his head and back, sat down at the scene, and was found by the arriving police and transported to a nearby hospital.
The police who arrived at the scene found A sitting injured near a flower bed close to the victim's house and reported it to the fire department.
