Public Home Shopping Surpasses 45% Mobile Sales Share in September... "Mobile First Strategy Worked"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] Gongyoung Home Shopping announced on the 7th that the proportion of mobile sales exceeded 45% in September.
According to Gongyoung Home Shopping, the proportion of mobile sales last year was 34%, an increase of about 11 percentage points compared to the previous year. The transaction amount in September also recorded 40 billion KRW, a 40% increase compared to the previous year.
Gongyoung Home Shopping is promoting business restructuring and digital transformation, including establishing a mobile business division, by advancing a 'Mobile First' strategy. A Gongyoung Home Shopping official said, "As a result of the Mobile First strategy, the cumulative number of mobile app downloads exceeded 10 million in June, and the cumulative number of visits to Gongyoung Home Shopping in September alone exceeded 6 million."
Gongyoung Home Shopping is also conducting sales channel support projects through its mobile app. The company explained that traditional market products, which started selling in March last year, recorded sales of about 1.8 billion KRW this year, an increase of approximately 300%, thanks to the opening of the traditional market section and the availability of mobile Onnuri gift certificate payments.
