Gyeonggido Economic Promotion Agency Hosts Visual Contest to Revitalize Gyeonggi Regional Economy Portal
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency is holding a visualization idea contest using regional economic big data to revitalize the 'Gyeonggi Regional Economic Portal.'
This contest is hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by the Economic Science Promotion Agency. It was planned to derive various insights using data within the Gyeonggi Regional Economic Portal platform and to discover data-driven regional economic business models.
The contest theme is to create dashboards that can understand regional economic and industrial characteristics using regional economic information, seeking ways to revitalize the regional economy using big data, and analyzing the regional economy using public data.
Participants need to collect and analyze data according to the theme and create visualizations and dashboards. They are free to choose any data visualization solution as a tool. It is important to note that data posted on the Gyeonggi Regional Economic Portal must be used mandatorily. Other data posted on external sites such as the Public Data Portal can be collected and used independently by participants.
Prizes include 3 million KRW for one grand prize team, 1 million KRW for one excellence prize team, and 500,000 KRW each for two outstanding prize teams, along with the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency Director’s Award.
Applications are open to anyone aged 20 or older interested in data. Individual participation or teams of up to three members are allowed. The application period is until October 28.
