Through this agreement, Seoul City has committed to actively support four key areas related to the 2030 Busan World Expo bid: overseas negotiation activities, promotion, tourism marketing, and Seoul-Busan joint cooperation projects.
Seoul City will utilize its network of overseas sister cities to support negotiation activities and will actively promote Busan's bid using various media channels it owns. Additionally, it will collaborate on marketing efforts to jointly attract international tourists and will work on discovering joint cooperation projects between Seoul and Busan to vigorously support the Busan bid.
Meanwhile, Busan City anticipates that if the Busan World Expo bid is successful, approximately 34.8 million visitors from over 200 countries will attend, with an estimated economic ripple effect of 61 trillion won. Seoul expects that with the World Expo held in Busan, many tourists visiting the event will also visit Seoul, further invigorating Seoul's tourism industry.
