Since the launch of the 8th term, the city has reviewed the pledges through preliminary examinations by the responsible departments and progress plan meetings. Then, on the 30th of last month, it held the "8th Term Campaign Pledge Citizen Evaluation Committee Meeting" to explain the pledges to citizen committee members and gather their opinions.
To ensure the substance and rational promotion of the pledges, the city reviewed the direction of implementation from various angles and finalized 150 projects as campaign pledges in three major areas: ▲ Planning & Welfare ▲ Tourism & Economy ▲ Urban & Construction.
▲ In the Planning & Welfare sector, there are 42 projects including the reconstruction of Mokpo Station and relocation of railway facilities, expansion of childbirth support, and phased integration of the Muan Peninsula. ▲ In the Tourism & Economy sector, there are 76 projects including the promotion of the Culture and Arts Expo, establishment of the Mokpo Smart Green Industrial Complex, construction of a comprehensive youth job center, designation of the Kim Industry Promotion Zone, and fostering of specialized complexes. ▲ In the Urban & Construction sector, there are 32 projects including the creation of a waterfront space in Samhakdo and resolving traffic bottlenecks at the former police station intersection.
In particular, the operation of the 100-won bus for elementary, middle, and high school students is the first pledge implemented in the 8th term, with the budget secured in this year's supplementary budget and the service launched on the 1st of this month.
The city has made the finalized pledges public on the Mokpo City website and plans to form a pledge implementation evaluation team to monitor progress and actively reflect citizens' opinions going forward.
