20s Man Arrested for Detaining and Assaulting Girlfriend for Two Days Over Alleged Lie

[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] A man in his 20s has been arrested by the police on charges of detaining and assaulting his girlfriend for two days because she lied to him.
On the 4th, the Jungbu Police Station in Seoul announced that at around 12:15 a.m. that day, they arrested Mr. A (24) at a hotel located in Chodong, Jung-gu, Seoul, on charges of special assault, detention, and violation of the Narcotics Control Act.
It is known that Mr. A confined his girlfriend in the hotel and assaulted her by strangling her neck for two days starting from the 2nd. The police responded to a report from the victim's younger sibling and arrested Mr. A at the scene.
Mr. A reportedly stated that he detained and assaulted his girlfriend because she lied to him.

The police also discovered and seized suspected narcotics and 30 syringes at the scene. A police official stated, "We plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the crime and whether drugs were used."
