[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seonghyun, YGPA) announced on the 30th that it has been selected as a ‘2022 Best HRD (Human Resource Development) Institution in the Public Sector,’ jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Personnel Management and organized by the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training.
The ‘Best HRD Institution Certification System in the Public Sector’ is a government certification system awarded to institutions that excel in managing and developing human resources by fairly recruiting and managing personnel, conducting reasonable evaluations and rewards for performance management during employment, and enhancing individual capabilities through education and training.
YGPA was recognized for systematically and efficiently managing and developing human resources based on fairness across all areas of recruitment, personnel, and education, earning the Best HRD certification on its first attempt this year.
In particular, YGPA established the ‘YGPA Logistics Academy,’ the first of its kind in Jeonnam, providing specialized port and logistics education programs to the local community.
Additionally, YGPA was highly evaluated for its efforts to improve expertise both within the local community and among internal staff by operating learning organizations such as YG-CoP and YG Team EDU, offering continuous and self-directed learning opportunities.
President Park Seonghyun stated, “This certification achievement is the result of continuous internal and external efforts to strengthen employee capabilities. Going forward, we will continue to enhance the competencies of our executives and staff through fair, ability-centered personnel management and active support for education and training.”
Meanwhile, public institutions that receive the Best HRD certification are awarded a certificate and plaque, granted the status of an excellent institution for three years, allowed to use the government certification logo, and receive benefits such as exemption from regular labor inspections.
