Hannes Ekstrom, New CEO of Ericsson LG, "Supporting Korea's Leading 5G Initiatives"
Appointment of New CEO Effective October 1
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Ericsson LG, a telecommunications equipment manufacturing company, announced on the 30th that Hannes Ekstrom will assume the position of new CEO starting next month on the 1st.
Ekstrom previously served as Vice President of Ericsson and Head of Network Strategy. During his more than 20 years at Ericsson, he has held various roles and possesses extensive experience in the mobile industry. He earned a master's degree in Electronic Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and spent a long time in research and development (R&D) and product management, overseeing Ericsson's 5G product portfolio. He has held presales and sales positions in several countries and worked in Korea during the introduction of 4G (LTE).

New CEO Hannes Ekstrom said, "From 4G to 5G, I have already gained extensive work experience with the Korean market and customers," adding, "Through our technological leadership, we will do our best to ensure that Korea continues to lead in 5G."
