[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City has broken ground for the construction of a 'Transfer Parking Lot Complex Facility (Local Food Direct Market Branch No. 4)' in Sodam-dong 3-3 Living Zone.
According to the city on the 29th, this facility will be built on a 10,310㎡ site (total floor area 18,382㎡) with a total project cost of 37.6 billion KRW, consisting of four above-ground floors.
The first floor of the building will house the local food direct market, processing center, and restaurant; the second floor will feature a recycling upcycle center and an indoor playground. Since 2019, the city has been conducting business consultations with the Administrative City Construction Agency and the Sejong Special Headquarters of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH). Land acquisition is handled by the Administrative City Construction Agency, design and construction by LH, and indoor architecture including the Singsing Market is managed by the city.

Mayor Choi Min-ho of Sejong City stated, “The absence of the Singsing Market in the 3rd and 4th Living Zones caused many inconveniences for citizens using local agricultural products nearby. Once the 3rd Living Zone transfer parking lot complex facility is built, it will play a role in enhancing citizens' quality of life.”
