Korean Air Passenger Plane Involved in Ground Collision at UK Airport... "No Casualties"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] A ground collision occurred between a Korean Air passenger plane and an Icelandair aircraft at London Heathrow Airport.
According to Korean Air on the 29th, at around 4 a.m. (Korean time), a Boeing 777 passenger plane carrying 198 people collided with an Icelandair aircraft entering the gate while taxiing to the runway for takeoff at Heathrow Airport.
It was confirmed that the left wing of the Korean Air passenger plane made contact with the tail wing of the Icelandair aircraft. No passengers were injured in the accident. Passengers will be moved to a nearby hotel.
Korean Air plans to send a replacement aircraft from Incheon International Airport to London to return the passengers to Korea.
