Simmin, Imsil County Governor, Goes All Out to Secure National Budget and Resolve Current Issues

[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Shim Min, the governor of Imsil County, Jeonbuk, is making an all-out effort to secure national budgets and resolve current issues to complete the Seomjingang Renaissance within the 8th term of the elected government and to open an era of ten million tourists.

The county announced on the 27th that it will visit the office of National Assembly member Lee Yong-ho on the 28th to hold a meeting to secure next year's national budget as well as to resolve major county administration issues.

Governor Shim is particularly busy securing national budgets and resolving issues at the National Assembly stage.

Earlier in June, right after the local elections, Governor Shim visited the National Assembly and met with Assemblyman Lee Yong-ho to directly explain the projects targeted for national budget allocation and requested support.

As a result, major projects that had difficulties being reflected in the ministry budget, such as ▲Expansion and improvement of Osu public sewage treatment facilities (17.1 billion KRW) ▲Creation of Okjeongho National Ecological Trail (7.5 billion KRW) ▲Maintenance of Gangjin Singi natural disaster risk area (6.2 billion KRW), were finally included in the government budget proposal.

This is interpreted as a valuable achievement created by the trinity of Jeollabuk-do, Imsil County, and Assemblyman Lee Yong-ho, whose constituency includes Imsil, Sunchang, and Namwon, despite the current government's fiscal austerity policy.

Through this meeting with Assemblyman Lee Yong-ho, they plan to propose prioritizing and securing national budgets at the National Assembly stage for major projects that have not yet been resolved, such as ▲Upgrading Cheongung~Imsil two-lane road (41.2 billion KRW) ▲Improvement of Osu Naedong intersection access road (3 billion KRW) ▲Creation of World Famous Dog Theme Land (18 billion KRW).

They also intend to express interest and support for current issues such as establishing Imsil-type residential spaces for the 35th Division military personnel and Iljin Steel workers (public rental housing in Imsil-eup).

Additionally, they are expected to request attention and interest in major events such as the 8th Imsil N Cheese Festival held from the 7th to the 10th of next month and the completion ceremony of the Okjeongho suspension bridge on October 22.

Governor Shim Min said, “Having served as county governor through the 6th, 7th, and now the 8th term, we have promoted many growth-driving projects,” adding, “Now, the big puzzle of the ‘Seomjingang Renaissance’ is being put together one by one.”

He continued, “Without losing our original intention, we will unite with Jeollabuk-do and the political circles to fully open the era of ten million tourists in Imsil through the completion of the Seomjingang Renaissance.”
