Coupang's Small and Medium-Sized Businesses Participating in Win-Win Projects in the First Half of This Year Achieve 89% Sales Increase Compared to Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang announced on the 26th that the sales of small and medium-sized merchants participating in the regional win-win support projects continuously implemented with the government and local governments grew by 89% in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year. This is 60 percentage points higher than Coupang's overall sales growth rate of 29% during the same period. It is explained that this is an even more remarkable achievement compared to the nationwide small business card sales growth rate of 10.8% revealed by Korea Credit Data.
Coupang's win-win project not only provides benefits such as advertising and discount promotion support within the Coupang app but also gains favorable responses from small and medium-sized merchants because they can utilize Coupang's know-how in the entire online sales process, including product development, marketing, and logistics. Through the win-win support project, Hanseong Agricultural Cooperative Corporation, which sells tangerines on Coupang, achieved a 130% sales growth in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year, based on active joint product development with Coupang's brand manager in charge.
