By 9 PM, 25,065 Confirmed Nationwide... 3,536 Fewer Than Previous Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] As of 9 PM on the 24th, over 20,000 new COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide.
According to Seoul and other local governments, from midnight to 9 PM on the same day, a total of 25,065 people tested positive for COVID-19 across 17 cities and provinces nationwide. This is 3,536 fewer cases compared to the same time the previous day.
This is the lowest number for a Saturday at the same time in 11 weeks since July 9 (19,842 cases). It is 8,549 fewer cases than a week ago on the 17th and 2,100 fewer than two weeks ago on the 10th.
By region, 13,577 cases (54.2%) were reported in the metropolitan area, and 11,488 cases (45.8%) in non-metropolitan areas. The breakdown is as follows: Gyeonggi 6,987, Seoul 4,888, Incheon 1,702, Gyeongbuk 1,563, Gyeongnam 1,535, Daegu 162, Chungnam 1,009, Jeonbuk 932, Chungbuk 906, Busan 871, Jeonnam 747, Daejeon 723, Gangwon 708, Gwangju 630, Ulsan 451, Sejong 195, and Jeju 156.
