Samsung Electronics' 'Digital Signage' Product Under Patent Infringement Investigation in the US
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Samsung's 'digital signage' (outdoor display advertising board) products are under investigation by U.S. authorities over allegations of patent infringement.
The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) announced on the 22nd (local time) that it has received a complaint alleging that Samsung Electronics and Samsung SDS's outdoor signage products infringe on patents held by display manufacturer MRI, violating tariff laws, and has initiated a related investigation.
MRI claimed that the cooling system applied to Samsung's signage displays infringes on patents owned by MRI.
The ITC stated that it will soon appoint an administrative law judge to handle the case and proceed with the investigation.
