According to the Mokpo Coast Guard on the 23rd, at around 4 a.m. that day, a report was received of hearing a person falling into the sea in front of Samho Mulyangjang, Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do, and rescue forces including the Criminal Mobile Unit, Coastal Rescue Boat, and West Sea Special Rescue Team were dispatched to the scene.
The Coast Guard conducted a search at the scene to accurately locate the drowning person in the dark early morning, and at around 4:18 a.m., they found the drowning person, A (male, in his 60s), clinging to a vessel moored at a small pier, entered the water, and safely rescued him.
The rescued A complained of hypothermia but had no life-threatening injuries, received emergency treatment, and was handed over to the 119 ambulance team.
