Jeon Nam-do Councilor Han Suk-gyeong Proposes Private Consignment Operation of Yeongam KIC
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Han Suk-gyeong, Jeonnam Provincial Council member (Democratic Party of Korea·Suncheon 7), proposed the private consignment operation of Yeongam Korea International Circuit (KIC) during the settlement audit under the jurisdiction of the Corporate City Officer at the 365th 1st regular meeting.
According to Councilor Han Suk-gyeong on the 22nd, KIC, which opened in 2010, was the first circuit in Korea built to F1 specifications and had a grand opening, but after the F1 race was discontinued, it became a burden for Jeonnam Province due to annual deficits and lack of content.
Jeonnam Province, Yeongam County, and Jeonnam Development Corporation have planned various projects after the F1 race, such as attracting various competitions, creating auxiliary facilities, and the Tuning Valley project, but after 12 years, there have been no significant achievements.
