This event showcases Air Busan’s latest aircraft model, the ‘A321neo,’ wrapped with a message supporting the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The city and the city council have partnered with Air Busan, a leading local low-cost carrier (LCC), to promote the enthusiasm for hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo along the air routes traveled by people worldwide by organizing this aircraft wrapping and unveiling event.
Attendees at the event will include Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Vice Chairman of the City Council Park Jung-mook, Air Busan CEO Ahn Byung-seok, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Jang In-hwa, members of the City Council’s 2030 Busan World Expo Bid Special Committee, and other related officials.
The Air Busan wrapped aircraft (A321neo) unveiled at the event on the 22nd features the official emblem of the 2030 Busan World Expo and the word ‘EXPO’ in vibrant and lively colors on both sides of the aircraft’s fuselage exterior, expressing support for the bid.
This aircraft will widely convey the desire to host the 2030 Busan World Expo to domestic and international passengers using it, and it is expected to attract significant interest and support from tourists planning to visit Busan, Korea’s representative international tourism city, especially with the recovery of travel sentiment following the lifting of social distancing measures.
This aircraft is eco-friendly, with higher fuel efficiency and lower carbon emissions compared to other aircraft, contributing to carbon emission reduction, which aligns with the 2030 Busan World Expo theme, ‘The Great Transformation of the World, Voyage Toward a Better Future.’
It is scheduled to operate flights to over 20 cities in more than 10 countries, including Thailand and Vietnam, which is expected to greatly aid in overseas promotion of the 2030 Busan World Expo.
Following the cooperation agreement signed on July 28 for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid, the city and Air Busan have been conducting various collaborative promotions, including engraving messages supporting the bid on boarding passes since September 20, in addition to this event.
Air Busan is utilizing its fleet of 21 passenger aircraft to broadcast audio messages supporting the 2030 Busan World Expo bid during landing, and displaying promotional banners for the bid during online ticketing. Additionally, advertisements promoting the bid have been placed in in-flight magazines and duty-free catalogs during the summer peak season.
Air Busan CEO Ahn Byung-seok said, “We thank the city, city council, the Air Force, and local district lawmakers for their generous support and cooperation in this aircraft wrapping. Not only with this wrapping advertisement but also by mobilizing various promotional channels we have, all Air Busan employees will do their best to ensure that the 2030 World Expo is successfully hosted in Busan.”
Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “Through this event, I hope the passion and enthusiasm for hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo will be widely conveyed to domestic and international travelers using Air Busan aircraft. We will do our utmost during the remaining bid period to successfully bring the 2030 World Expo to Busan, establishing balanced national development, creating a new growth axis for Korea, and enhancing the country’s brand value.”
