Opening of the 'Materials Technology Exhibition' in Changwon... Advancing as a Leading City in SoBuJang Technology
A Comprehensive Overview of Core Technologies in Materials, Parts, and Equipment Supporting the 4th Industrial Revolution
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced that KIMS TECHFAIR 2022 (Korea Institute of Materials Science Technology Exchange Exhibition), aimed at exchanging the latest trends in materials industry and enhancing the technological competitiveness of companies, will be held from the 21st to the 22nd at the Changwon Convention Center.
Held for the first time in four years since 2018 due to COVID-19, ‘KIMS TECHFAIR’ is a materials technology dissemination exhibition by the Korea Institute of Materials Science, which has over 250 research personnel, dedicated to national strategic materials R&D and the development of the national materials industry.
This year’s event is divided into a Materials Technology Hall, featuring world-class technologies owned by the Korea Institute of Materials Science, and a Materials Companies Hall, showcasing materials-based technologies from excellent partner companies, operating on a scale of 39 companies and 131 booths. Additionally, a Business Hall providing corporate support consultations will be operated to assist in resolving technical difficulties and conducting technology mentoring, thereby supporting the foundation for enhancing companies’ materials technology competitiveness and technological self-reliance.
At the opening ceremony, about 500 people from the public, private, academic, and research sectors attended, including Ahn Kyung-won, 1st Deputy Mayor of Changwon City, Ryu Myung-hyun, Director of Industry and Trade Bureau of Gyeongsangnam-do, Kim Yi-geun, Chairman of Changwon City Council, Lee Sang-yeon, Chairman of Gyeongnam Employers Federation, and Kwon Soon-ki, President of Gyeongsang National University. The Korea Institute of Materials Science held a proclamation ceremony for the vision of leading extreme materials technology, expressing its ambition to secure technological sovereignty and leadership in extreme materials technology, and concluded the opening ceremony with a technology transfer agreement signing with representatives of four companies.
