Appearing with his head bowed at the Namdaemun Police Station detention center, Jeon said to reporters, "I am truly sorry. I did a really crazy thing." When asked if it was true that he intended to attend the trial after the crime, he replied, "That is correct."
He also apologized to the bereaved families, saying, "I am sorry." Regarding why he withdrew money, he stated, "I was going to give it to my parents."
Jeon is accused of wielding a weapon and killing victim A, who was his colleague at Seoul Metro, in the women's restroom at Sindang Station around 9 p.m. on the 14th. It is also known that Jeon stalked A for two years starting in 2019.
The police have been investigating with a focus on planned crime, considering that Jeon prepared the weapon in advance, waited for over an hour in front of the restroom for A, and followed her inside.
