Imsil-gun Creates Cosmos Flowers Around Saseondae, a National Tourist Destination
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] The spectacular cosmos fields created around Saseondae, a national tourist attraction in Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, are captivating early autumn tourists.
According to the county on the 20th, welcoming the autumn season ideal for family trips, cosmos flowers have been planted at the major tourist site Saseondae, gaining great popularity among visitors.
The county has been planting cosmos since summer to provide enjoyable autumn scenery for tourists visiting the Gwancheon Saseondae national tourist site along with the Imsil Cheese Theme Park.
The cosmos site was created on both sides of the old riverside swimming pool area at Saseondae tourist site, covering 3,583㎡, designed for visitors to comfortably and joyfully enjoy the autumn atmosphere.
The flowers will bloom and wither repeatedly from now until next month, offering beauty to all visitors.
Additionally, for tourists visiting the Gwancheon Saseondae national tourist site, a mural featuring Sasinseon and Saseonnyeo was created on a 3m high and 20m long concrete wall in the sculpture park, where 42 sculptures can also be appreciated.
The county plans to provide fresh attractions to tourists visiting Imsil by offering various sights and activities around Saseondae national tourist site, Imsil Cheese Theme Park, Seongsusan Natural Recreation Forest, and soon-to-open Okjeongho Bungeo Island and suspension bridge area, accompanied by autumn heralds such as cosmos and chrysanthemums.
Especially, with the opening of the Okjeongho suspension bridge, the county expects a nationwide influx of tourists and is developing the entrance area around Yosan Park in Ipseok-ri, Unam-myeon, into a notable tourist spot.
Once the 420m-long Bungeo Island suspension bridge opens, visitors will be able to access Bungeo Island, a mysterious island previously only viewed from afar.
Accordingly, the county has developed Bungeo Island, spanning about 20,000 pyeong, into an ecological park where flowers and trees harmonize throughout all four seasons.
Meanwhile, anticipating many visitors coinciding with the suspension bridge opening, the county has completed improvements to the alignment of Local Road 749 and is creating a spacious parking lot for about 600 vehicles.
County Governor Shim Min said, “We are planting cosmos and chrysanthemums throughout major tourist sites in Imsil-gun to provide pleasant and beautiful sights for both local residents and tourists,” adding, “We will continue our efforts to create tourist destinations that capture beautiful memories and encourage repeat visits.”
