Dong-Eui University Provides Trade Practice Training for Sri Lankan Government Officials

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dong-Eui University has been conducting the 3rd-year invitation training of the "Sri Lanka Export Promotion Agency Export Strategy, Market Research, and Market Diversification Capacity Project" for 23 trade-related government officials from the Sri Lankan government for two weeks from the 18th of last month to October 1st.
The training has been conducted since 2020 to nurture trade experts of the Sri Lanka Export Promotion Agency for the promotion of Sri Lanka's trade and economic development, and this year is the final session of the program.
The training includes ▲ sharing Korea's experience in implementing economic and trade-related policies ▲ education on customs administration and trade practices ▲ visits to various related facilities such as Busan Port Authority and Busan·Gyeongnam Regional Customs Headquarters ▲ industrial inspections including Hyundai Motor Company.
The education involves professors from Dong-Eui University including Professor Lee Jae-seung and Professor Kim Young-geun from the Department of Trade, Professor Lim Dong-soon from the Department of Economics, Professor Kim Hyun-gyu from the Department of Business Administration, Professor Park Young-bae and Professor Jung Joong-young from the Department of Finance and Insurance, as well as Kwon Do-gyeom, head of the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association, participating as instructors.
Professor Lee Jae-seung, the overall person in charge of the training, said, "We expect the participants to establish effective trade policies related to Sri Lanka's key industries in the future and contribute to Sri Lanka's industrial development by expanding exports and foreign direct investment."
Dong-Eui University Vice President Kim Sun-ho and KOICA Busan Office Director Hong Soon-beom said, "We hope the training will be successfully completed and expect that the expansion of economic exchanges and the promotion of friendly relations with Sri Lanka, a hub country in the Indian Ocean, will also contribute to regional diplomatic activities for Busan City's bid for the 2030 Expo."
