Hana Financial Group Launches 'Hana Digital Power On Project' to Foster Digital Talent
Competition to Foster Digital Finance Talent with Financial Supervisory Service and Global IT Companies
Team Applications Open Until October 11, Preference for Low-Income University (Graduate) Students
Final Competition Held on October 27
[Asia Economy Reporter Sim Nayo] Hana Financial Group announced that it will conduct the 'Hana Digital Power On Project,' a digital talent development program for university (graduate) students.
Sponsored by the Financial Supervisory Service, Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft, applications for the 「Hana Digital Power On Project」 can be submitted until October 11 through Hana Bank's main mobile app ‘Hana One Q’ and the Hana Financial Group website.
The recruitment target is third- and fourth-year students of four-year universities and graduate students in the Seoul metropolitan area (Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon), and participation is only allowed in teams (minimum 2 to maximum 5 members). To provide educational and employment opportunities to students who work hard despite difficult circumstances, additional points will be awarded to academically outstanding university (graduate) students from low-income families.
This project focuses on ideas related to the 'convergence of finance and digital,' such as AI, big data, and cloud utilization. Twenty teams will be selected through the first document screening, and ten teams will be chosen through the final competition held on the 27th of next month at the Hana Financial Group Global Campus located in Cheongna.
The ten teams selected through the final competition will receive one month of free advanced training conducted by experts from Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft, as well as a three-month on-site research project. Each participant will be supported with 400,000 KRW for research and development expenses. Teams that complete the entire training course will also receive preferential benefits (exemption from document screening) when applying for jobs at Hana Financial Group (holding company and affiliates), and students from low-income families will be separately awarded scholarships of 1,000,000 KRW.
After completing all training courses, the five outstanding teams finally selected will be awarded a total prize of 25,000,000 KRW. The grand prize team, awarded the Financial Supervisory Service Commissioner's Award, will receive 10,000,000 KRW; two teams will receive 5,000,000 KRW each for the excellence award; and two teams will receive 2,500,000 KRW each for the merit award. The grand prize team will also be given the opportunity to visit the headquarters of a global IT company.
