Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 20th that the world's largest K-POP festival, the '2022 Changwon K-POP World Festival,' will be held.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will host the "2022 Changwon K-POP World Festival (Subtitle: K-POP IS MY UNIVERSE: Another World of Mine, K-POP, hereinafter World Festival)," the world's largest K-POP festival, on October 7th at 7 PM at Changwon Sports Complex.
Now in its 11th year, the World Festival is the world's largest Hallyu festival where participants who love K-POP from around the globe compete in performance skills. It is jointly hosted by KBS Korea Broadcasting System, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Overseas Culture and Information Service, with support from Changwon Special City.
The World Festival held this October is expected to be a "glorious return" after three years, with great enthusiasm. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was canceled two years ago, and last year, the final competition for overseas K-POP participants was held online.
Notably, this year, global auditions were held in about 100 regions worldwide, and after two rounds of expert judging for the first-place teams from each country, eight teams from eight countries?Netherlands, Norway, Nigeria, Germany, Mongolia, Bulgaria, Chile, and Japan?will compete in the finals in Changwon.
This year's World Festival, befitting its status as the world's largest K-POP festival, will be jointly hosted by actor Kim Myung-soo (Infinite L), singer Alexa, and Sua from Billlie, who will lead the stage with a sense of style and excellent hosting skills.
The lineup is also spectacular. Leading K-POP artists representing South Korea such as Aiki X Hook, Alexa, Billlie, Brave Girls, CIX, KARD, and Lee Jin-hyuk will appear in large numbers, expected to elevate the atmosphere to the fullest.
