Let's Fall for the Charm of Humanities! ... Pukyong National University Hosts 'Visiting Marine Humanities' Event

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) Project Group at Pukyong National University will hold "Busan, Immersed in the Humanities Sea - Pukyong Visiting Maritime Humanities" six times from September to November.
The event is a humanities program themed "Walking through Busan's History and Future," where citizens can visit Busan's historical and cultural landmarks with experts and experience the charm of humanities embraced by the maritime city of Busan.
Supported by Busan City's "2022 Busan Humanities Forum Support Project," the event is jointly hosted by Pukyong University HK+ Project Group, the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Marine Humanities Research Institute, Busan Humanities Solidarity, and the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, with sponsorship from Busan City, the Ministry of Education, and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
The first event, themed "Busan's First Orphanage," will take place on the 27th and includes a tour with guide Moon Taekwang, author of "Busan Galmaetgil 700-ri," visiting the Busan Leprosy Hospital Monument, Park Gijong Memorial Stone, Jwacheon Cave, and Seongbuk Hill.
The second event on October 11th, themed "Beomeosa Temple, a Thousand-Year-Old Temple in the City," will explore Beomeosa Temple's Cheongryong Wisteria Path.
The third event on October 25th, led by Kwon Youngju, chairman of the Busan Studies Forum, is themed "Cultural Heritage with Modern History" and includes visits to Sanbok-ro Story Workshop, the former Namseon Warehouse, and the former Baekje Hospital.
The fourth event on November 8th, with Professor Lee Geunwoo of Pukyong National University, is themed "Modern Yeongdo: The Humanities Village of the Pain and Hope of Displaced People in Yeongdo," visiting Jembachi Alley, Kkangkkangi Village, Sudabang, Yeongdo Tram Terminus Monument, and Huinyeoul-gil.
The fifth event on November 15th, with novelist Shin Jongseok, is themed "Stories Related to the Hayaria Unit of the Korean War Headquarters," featuring a tour of Busan Citizens Park and the former prison area.
The sixth event on November 29th, with architectural culture guide Kim Mija, is themed "Following the Dongnae Eolsu Old Road," visiting Dongnae Magistrate's Office, Dongnae Hyanggyo Confucian School, Seojangdae, and Bokcheon-dong Ancient Tombs.
