Seoul Digital Foundation Operates Exhibition and Experience Center on 'Walking Together with the Digitally Disadvantaged' Using AI Robots
Operating Robot Education Experience Booth at COEX '2022 Edutech Korea Fair' from 22nd to 24th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Digital Foundation announced on the 20th that it will operate a robot education experience booth at the '2022 EduTech Korea Fair' held at COEX for three days starting from the 22nd.
Since 2020, the foundation and five autonomous districts of Seoul have been using robots to provide smartphone usage education for the elderly and childcare support for children. This year, they are conducting a pilot service offering robots and content for emotional care of the elderly.
The 'EduTech Korea Fair' is an event boasting the highest credibility in the EduTech field, hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and organized by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Korea Digital Education Association, and Korea EduTech Industry Association. It is being held offline for the first time in three years.
The 'EduTech Korea Fair' is held under the theme 'EduTech, the Beginning of the Digital Transformation.' The Seoul Digital Foundation operates an exhibition hall within the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy policy hall under the theme 'Walking Together with Seoul's Digital Vulnerable through Robots,' informing citizens about Seoul city and the foundation's robot-utilized education and care projects.
Visitors to the exhibition hall can directly experience ▲smartphone education for the elderly ▲pilot service of emotional care content for the elderly ▲childcare support programs. The foundation will explain Seoul's policies for digital vulnerable groups to visitors and answer questions regarding digital competency enhancement education and care projects using robots operated by the foundation.

Gang Yo-sik, Chairman of the Seoul Digital Foundation, said, “Robots have been used as excellent digital tools to support socially vulnerable groups in various ways such as education and care,” adding, “To actively support Seoul’s administrative philosophy of walking with the vulnerable, we will expand robot-utilized digital competency enhancement education and care services, and take this exhibition participation as an opportunity to spread our achievements.”
