Korea Forest Service Hosts National Forest Interpretation Contest: "Enjoy the Forest in the City"

View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Forest Service announced that it will hold the "16th National Forest Interpretation Contest" from the 19th to the 21st at the Peace Plaza area of Seoul World Cup Park.
With the theme "Dosirak Sup (都市樂 Sup, Forest Enjoyed in the City Center)," the purpose of this contest is to discover beneficial forest education programs and content that satisfy the ecological and cultural needs of urban forest users and provide enjoyment.
The contest will feature a competition among the final 44 teams who passed the preliminary round held last month. Over the past month, the Korea Forest Service conducted preliminaries in four categories: forest education program development (for toddlers and general public), forest interpretation experiential teaching aids, and forest photography contest.
By category, 107 teams applied for program development (toddlers and elementary), of which 12 teams advanced; 95 teams applied for program development (general adults), with 12 teams advancing; 74 teams applied for forest interpretation experiential teaching aids, with 10 teams advancing; and 58 teams applied for the forest photography contest, with 10 teams advancing to the finals.
After the three-day finals by category, winners will be selected based on evaluations by professional judges. The top prize (1 team), excellence awards (2 teams), and encouragement awards (3 teams) in each category will receive awards from the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Forest Service Commissioner, along with prizes.
During the contest period, side events will also be held at the Peace Plaza area of World Cup Park, including forest education and forest interpretation teaching aid and photo exhibitions, natural crafts using forest resources, and wood utilization experiences.
