Ministry of the Interior and Safety Supports Customized Growth and Market Expansion for 'Social Economy Enterprises' in Local Areas
'Min-Gwan Collaboration System Establishment Project' Regional Tour Consulting
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 19th that it will conduct a regional advisory tour for about two weeks from the 20th to the 29th to check the progress of the "Public-Private Collaboration System Establishment Project" supporting local social economy enterprises and to gather regional opinions.
The "Public-Private Collaboration System Establishment Project" is a project that supports social economy enterprises such as village enterprises and social enterprises through public-private collaboration to help them grow. This project has been underway since 2021, and in March of this year, 35 local governments were selected and each received 100 million KRW (50 million KRW from the central government and 50 million KRW from local governments) in project funds.
During this regional advisory tour, the progress of the project in 10 local governments will be reviewed, and future development plans will be explored together through sharing best practices, additional on-site inspections, and expert consultations. Additionally, meetings will be held with representatives of social economy enterprises to confirm the tangible effects of the project on the ground and to discuss necessary improvements and developments for the 2023 project implementation, including support measures that consider regional characteristics such as population decline and the scale of the social economy.
The results of this regional advisory tour, along with the progress review of local government projects, will be shared through a nationwide city and province video conference scheduled for October.
Meanwhile, to increase sales of social economy enterprises, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety signed a business agreement with Homeplus in 2021 and placed social economy enterprise products in the online store (Homeplus Mall). Currently, more than 700 products from 160 social economy enterprises in 9 local governments are available for purchase at the online store, and a special exhibition celebrating the first anniversary of the store's opening is planned from the 13th to the 26th of next month.
