Hyunjeong Park, Gwangju Dong-gu Council Member, Urges Support Measures for Essential Workers

He pointed out, “The social value of essential labor is not being properly recognized in our reality,” adding, “During socially chaotic times such as disasters and infectious diseases, essential workers are exposed to various risks and are not receiving adequate economic compensation due to unstable employment forms and low wages.”
He also stated, “The absence of essential workers leads to a gap in our essential services, which is directly connected to basic living, making their protection more urgent than ever,” emphasizing the need to conduct a survey to prepare specific and systematic support measures.
