K-Software Supports Indonesia's Digitalization and Carbon Neutrality
KOTRA Donates Korean IT and Education Services to Indonesian Government and Ministry of Education
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on the 19th that from the 5th to the 14th, it collaborated with domestic software development small and medium-sized enterprise Company A to provide IT training on digital document editing technology to the Indonesian government and two major universities located in East Java. Additionally, it donated 100 licenses of a document creation program worth $40,000 (55.6 million KRW) to the Indonesian government and educational sector to establish a low-carbon, paperless work environment.
As part of the ESG+ project, KOTRA promoted this IT training. From the 5th to the 9th, training was conducted at ITS University in Surabaya, Indonesia, and from the 12th to the 13th at Ma Chung University in Malang City. On the 14th, a software donation ceremony was held in conjunction with the '2022 East Java Investment Week' investment event held in East Java, Indonesia. Additionally, three memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed to facilitate technology exchange and mutual cooperation among domestic companies, the Indonesian government, and the educational sector.
In this ESG+ project, over 20 Indonesian public officials participated to receive digital transformation (DX) IT technology necessary for building a digital government. More than 40 local university professors and staff were trained on how to use green document creation software to reduce carbon emissions and paper usage in education and improve paperless work environments.

KOTRA expects this project to help domestic software companies secure a foothold in the Indonesian market. Kim Junsung, head of the KOTRA Surabaya Trade Center, stated, “Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) is both a mission of the era and a social responsibility demanded by global consumers from companies,” adding, “Through KOTRA’s global ESG+ project, we will assist domestic companies in achieving both export growth and community contribution.”
