[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeonnam Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong), Yeosu National Industrial Complex Factory Managers' Council, Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation Jeonnam Regional Headquarters signed a business agreement on the 16th in the mayor's office to create a pleasant street environment in Yeosu National Industrial Complex.
At the signing ceremony, Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong of Yeosu, Jang Gap-jong, chairman of the Factory Managers' Council, Lee Yong-gyu, chairman of Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Yeom Dong-il, head of Korea Industrial Complex Corporation Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, attended and promised mutual cooperation and joint financial burden.
Until now, illegally dumped garbage has been left unattended along roadsides and parking lots near Yeosu National Industrial Complex, damaging the image of the national industrial complex and causing continuous complaints.
Also, cleanliness activities around workplaces have been conducted mainly by large corporations, making voluntary participation of small and medium-sized enterprises and awareness improvement of industrial complex workers urgently needed.
Through this agreement, the four organizations will actively cooperate to spread the implementation of 'maintaining cleanliness around my workplace' and share joint financial burdens to create a pleasant image of the national industrial complex.
In the second half of this year, we plan to carry out weeding and garbage collection on five sections totaling 150 km, including back roads of the national industrial complex, and hang banners to prevent illegal dumping.
Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong said, "With this agreement, we expect voluntary participation of companies in cleaning activities around the industrial complex to expand," and added, "We hope everyone will continue to work together to create a pleasant environment in the national industrial complex."
