View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Juri] A survey revealed that the former president most trusted by South Koreans is Roh Moo-hyun.
On the 15th, SisaIN released the results of a trust survey on former presidents conducted through the polling agency CaseStat Research (sample error margin ±3.1% at 95% confidence level, response rate 10.1%). Former President Roh Moo-hyun received the highest trust with 29.8% of respondents selecting him.
Following him were former Presidents Park Chung-hee and Moon Jae-in. Park received 24.3%, and Moon recorded 15.1%.
Former President Kim Dae-jung ranked fifth with 13.5%, and former President Lee Myung-bak had 2.6%.
SisaIN has been conducting an annual survey (except in 2008 and 2011) since 2007 on "the most trusted former president."
Since the first survey in 2007, former President Park Chung-hee generally maintained first place, but since 2014, when former President Roh Moo-hyun led by a margin of 0.2 percentage points, Park has not regained the top spot.
When asked about their political orientation, 22% identified as progressive, 32.3% as conservative, and 41.7% as moderate.
Among those who identified as conservative, 44.1% said they trusted former President Park the most, making him the top choice among conservatives, while former President Roh Moo-hyun ranked second with 14.6%.
Among those who identified as progressive, 43.4%, and among moderates, 36.2%, selected former President Roh as the most trusted president.
Meanwhile, former President Moon Jae-in, who was included in the survey for the first time this time, received the most trust from respondents in their 30s (22.7%), the Gwangju and Jeolla regions (22.6%), and students (21.5%).
Support among women was strong. Among women aged 18-29, 28.4%, and women in their 30s, 34.1%, chose former President Moon Jae-in as the most trusted president, the highest percentage across all age groups.

This survey was conducted by CaseStat Research from August 19 to 21, targeting 1,005 men and women aged 18 and older nationwide. The survey method was a combined landline and mobile RDD telephone interview. The response rate was 10.1%, and the sample error margin was ±3.1 percentage points (95% confidence level).
