The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority and Incheon Technopark announced on the 15th that after recruiting startups through a demonstration commercialization program in March this year and selecting five companies including IDCT Co., Swan Electronics, JH Global Co., Seven Meerkat, and Tend Bio Co., they have recently finalized the demonstration infrastructure and are entering full-scale prototype demonstration.
IDCT is conducting a demonstration of a GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) transmitter system for indoor vehicle navigation in the underground parking lot of Incheon Startup Park. Through this, they aim to enable reliable GPS signal reception in underground parking lots even with general navigation systems.
Swan Electronics is carrying out a demonstration project for displays using transparent OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) in the lobby on the first floor of Incheon Startup Park. This demonstration will provide various content to citizens using smart bus stops and subway screen doors through transparent OLED displays.
JH Global is demonstrating an eco-friendly insulation coating that combines air quality improvement and antibacterial properties at the New Port of Incheon Port Authority and the plaza on the first floor of Incheon Startup Park. At the Incheon Startup Park plaza, a demonstration box will be created to share the demonstration details with citizens. Through this demonstration, JH Global will verify various effects such as insulation, fine dust reduction, and air quality improvement.
Seven Meerkat is conducting a demonstration of a lifestyle convenience upgrade platform based on a smart parking control system at an apartment complex in the area. Seven Meerkat’s platform not only monitors apartment access information but also checks vehicle damage status and vehicle contamination, connecting residents to nearby car centers and car washes.
Tend Bio is demonstrating the development of a biomimetic organ chip for efficacy evaluation of candidate drugs for fatty liver treatment at its own laboratory and Hongik University. Tend Bio’s organ chip is a product applicable in four fields: animal experiment replacement, chemical toxicity evaluation, health functional foods, and non-clinical areas.
This can reduce the time and cost involved in repetitive experiments. It is especially expected to be a demonstration that can solve the ethical issues of animal testing, which has become a social problem.
These startups are supported with demonstration resources such as infrastructure, platforms, and data, as well as demonstration costs up to 50 million KRW.
