Review of the #SecretBakery Trio Without Flour
Root Crop Lovers, Gather Here!
Everyone, have you ever wanted to try a healthy eating habit? Recently, eco-friendly eating habits that protect both the Earth and ourselves, like veganism, have become the ultimate trend. I personally have always wanted to practice healthy eating habits. The reason is that I recently came across some surprising information about wheat flour allergy. Wheat flour is a crucial ingredient that we are very familiar with and that can make many delicious foods. However! It turns out that acquired allergic reactions to wheat flour can occur. Irregular eating habits, sleep patterns, and excessive stress are said to be the main causes. Wheat flour allergy can cause diarrhea and constipation, and weakened immunity can lead to skin diseases. In fact, even though I know well that wheat flour can cause indigestion, skin troubles, and weight gain, what can I do when there are so many delicious things in the world!
But what kind of people are we! Since veganism is the trend, we are a people who strive to easily incorporate healthy and tasty foods into our cooking and preparation. Pulmuone, a company that always strives to provide consumers with wholesome food, has launched bread to reduce the burden of wheat flour for bread lovers. The name is Bimil Bbangjip (Secret Bakery). The name combines "bi" (non-) and "mil" (wheat), hence Bimil Bbangjip. Crops that used to be found only in fields are now on our tables, and the bread is made with rice flour instead of wheat flour. Here is a review of Pulmuone’s Bimil Bbangjip trio that protects me, my family, and even the Earth?let’s go!
Potato Bread
Spoiler alert: unlike the other products, it comes packaged like dumplings in a plastic pack, which makes storage inconvenient, so I want to give it a minus point. It looks like potatoes sprinkled with pepper, but actually it is topped with soybean powder and black sesame powder to give it a more authentic bread feel. Why does it taste like pepper to me? I thought the fluffy potato was somewhat bland. While eating this potato bread, you might find yourself wondering whether to dip it in sugar or salt. Unable to resist curiosity, I tried it with salt and pepper, and it was fascinating because the texture and taste reminded me of freshly steamed potatoes.
Editor Score: 3.5 points / The bland taste is both a minus and a plus, making it an intriguing flavor
Cream Cheese Corn Bread
Cream cheese corn bread! The cream cheese is not greasy or too strong, so the flavor is milder than expected. The cream cheese contains plenty of corn kernels, adding more fun texture compared to other products. When cooked in an air fryer, the cream cheese melts and the shape often gets distorted instead of staying firm. Among the Bimil Bbangjip trio, this one best brings out the natural taste of root crops and is the sweetest and most stimulating. Compared to the somewhat bland potato bread or roasted sweet potato bread, it is the best choice as a snack substitute.
Editor Score: 5 points / Is there any corn food that doesn’t taste good?
Roasted Sweet Potato Bread
Roasted sweet potatoes that come to mind in winter. It tastes exactly like what we thought, or rather, what I thought. It feels like the yellow, well-cooked roasted sweet potato skin has been peeled off, and the outer part has been crisped using a torch or frying pan. Rather than crispy, the texture is better described as crackly. If potato bread naturally made you think of sugar or salt, roasted sweet potato bread reminded me of dongchimi (radish water kimchi) or well-fermented kimchi. Although the taste is distinctly different from real sweet potatoes, the bread is filled with plenty of sweet potatoes, allowing you to enjoy the sweetness from start to finish.
Editor Score: 4 points / The feeling of eating sweet potatoes with a chewy texture♥
All three Bimil Bbangjip breads have a very chewy texture. When you take a bite of the glutinous sesame bread, the way it splits and the texture closely resemble it. If you like a mild taste, I recommend the potato bread; if you want to indulge in sweetness, the roasted sweet potato bread; and if you want both sweetness and texture, the cream cheese corn bread. Pulmuone’s Bimil Bbangjip is great as a snack or for serving guests. Since eating this bread doesn’t leave you feeling bloated, you can enjoy it without any burden. Everyone, give it a try!
