Naju-si to Host Municipal Art Troupe Citizen Concert on 20th-21st
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Yoon Byung-tae) announced on the 14th that it will hold the ‘Municipal Art Troupe Citizen Concert’ on the 20th and 21st to overcome COVID-19 and comfort the weary minds and bodies of citizens.
This concert, the first step of the ‘Prospering Cultural Tourism’ policy of the 8th elected administration, will be held on the 20th at Yeongsanpo Railroad Park (Yeonggang-dong) and on the 21st at Bitgaram Lake Park from 7:30 PM to 9:05 PM (95 minutes) respectively.
The performance will feature the municipal choir and gugak troupe presenting lively choral and gugak stages that transcend tradition and modernity.
The choir will perform a medley of famous songs by singer Jo Yong-pil, including ‘I Wish It Were Like That Now’, ‘Short Hair’, ‘I Can’t Find You, Nightingale’, ‘Let’s Go on a Trip’, and ‘Mona Lisa’, along with popular songs familiar to citizens, accompanied by choreography.
The gugak troupe will enliven the stage with a performance combining song, dance, and music, including ‘Hwaseonmu’, ‘Phoenix Work Song’, ‘Seoljangu Concerto Odyssey’, popular song ‘Nim’, and ‘Pungut and Sogo Dance’.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, “I hope this performance will be a time of vitality and healing for citizens exhausted by COVID-19 at the threshold of the cool autumn,” and added, “We will continue to do our best so that citizens can enjoy various cultural and artistic policies amid the beautiful scenery of Naju.”
