Daejeon City, Influenza Vaccination for Children, Pregnant Women, and Seniors
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City will begin influenza (seasonal flu) vaccinations this month, prioritizing children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
The city announced on the 14th that starting from the 21st, influenza vaccinations will be administered sequentially to children, pregnant women, seniors aged 65 and older, and vulnerable groups.
From the first day of vaccination (the 21st) until the 4th of next month, children who require two doses (aged 6 months to 13 years) will be eligible. From the 5th of next month, vaccinations for children requiring one dose and pregnant women will begin, continuing until April 30 of next year.
The elderly will be vaccinated sequentially as follows: ▲ from the 12th of next month, those aged 75 and older (born on or before December 13, 1947), ▲ October 17 for those aged 70 to 74 (born between January 1, 1948, and December 31, 1952), ▲ October 20 for those aged 65 to 69 (born between January 1, 1953, and December 31, 1957).
Eligible individuals can receive influenza vaccinations at nearby clinics or hospitals regardless of their registered residence. Designated vaccination medical institutions can be checked on the public health center website or the vaccination assistant site.
Before visiting a medical institution, recipients must confirm vaccination availability with the institution and bring identification, a maternal health handbook (or pregnancy confirmation certificate), and other necessary documents.
The city is also conducting free vaccinations for vulnerable groups aged 50 to 64 (basic livelihood security recipients, severely disabled persons, etc.) as part of its own program. Free vaccinations will be available from the 25th of next month until vaccine supplies run out. Eligible individuals should bring identification and verification documents when visiting designated medical institutions.
