Daejeon City Recruits Young Participants Including University Students for 'Youth Challenge Support Project'
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is recruiting young people to participate in the ‘Youth Challenge Support Project.’
On the 14th, the city announced that applications for participation in the project will be accepted until the 17th of next month through the Worknet website (search for Youth Challenge Support Project), the Google application platform, and the Daejeon Job Support Center.
The project is implemented to support social activities for young people who are experiencing difficulties in employment, such as stopping job-seeking activities, and to boost their motivation to find jobs.
The recruitment target is 250 people, including 175 general participants and 75 regionally specialized participants.
General participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis and include young people aged 18 to 34 who have not participated in employment, education, or vocational training in the past six months, young people preparing for independence who have left child welfare facilities within the last five years, and those aged 18 or older who have stayed in youth shelters for more than one year.
Regionally specialized participants include young people aged 18 to 39 engaged in livelihood-type part-time jobs (employees insured under employment insurance working less than 30 hours per week) and young people whose employment period is within 10 days from the date of obtaining employment insurance and who have no employment, education, or vocational training history for more than two months prior to the acquisition date. From this recruitment, university (graduate) students (those with employment insurance history) are also eligible to participate in the project.
Participants in the project will be provided with programs such as ▲ intensive counseling (including geometric psychology, one-on-one counseling), ▲ life management (stress management, etc.), ▲ confidence recovery (image making, Enneagram, motivation, etc.), ▲ career exploration (understanding employment trends, setting career goals, strengthening communication, etc.), ▲ employment competency enhancement (how to write job applications and self-introductions, interview image making, etc.), and ▲ regionally tailored programs (mentoring by current workers, talk concerts, etc.).
The programs will be conducted in two sessions: the 7th session from the 19th of this month to the 14th of next month, and the 8th session from the 17th of next month to November 11.
The city will also provide an incentive of 200,000 KRW to those who complete at least 32 hours out of the 40-hour program standard time.
Additionally, if program completers wish to receive further education, one-on-one resume coaching, one-day classes, participant networking, and comprehensive employment support services linked with the National Employment System will be offered.
