View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] Kim Jaeseop, former Emergency Response Committee member of the People Power Party (Dobong-gap Party Committee Chairman), has repeatedly criticized the subway protests during the morning commute organized by the National Solidarity Against Disability Discrimination (Jeonjangyeon).
On the 13th, Kim, through his personal Facebook, stated, "Jeonjangyeon occupies the subway and takes commuting citizens hostage, demanding deinstitutionalization which has nothing to do with the mobility rights of the disabled," adding, "Since each disability organization has different positions on deinstitutionalization, Jeonjangyeon should not monopolize the leadership on this issue."
Along with this, Kim said, "If Jeonjangyeon insists that their subway protests causing severe inconvenience to citizens are unavoidable, their demands must be focused solely on the mobility rights of the disabled," explaining, "Even in the disability mobility rights struggles in the US and UK, which Jeonjangyeon and its supporters cite as examples, the purpose of the protests was exclusively about ‘disability mobility rights.’"
Kim also targeted remarks made by Chung Jinseok, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party. On the 8th, during a holiday greeting, Chung met with Park Kyungseok, Jeonjangyeon’s representative, and said regarding disability mobility rights issues, "Once the leadership is formed, we will review it in depth." Regarding this, Kim emphasized, "Above all, Jeonjangyeon is involved in criminal allegations related to deinstitutionalization, and Park, who leads the protests, is not free from these issues," adding, "While politicians who travel in exclusive vehicles with drivers attached to their articles of association give Jeonjangyeon credit without fierce debate or careful negotiation, the public bears the brunt of the damage."
Kim had also pointed out the day before, "Even if Jeonjangyeon’s subway protests were unavoidable, their corruption and criminal allegations cannot be tolerated."

In response, Jeonjangyeon issued a statement saying, "Former Emergency Response Committee member Kim should stop inciting hatred and discrimination against Jeonjangyeon with lies and rumors following Lee Junseok, and we urge him to reflect and apologize before facts and truth," adding, "We hope he realizes that in South Korea’s non-disabled-centered society, fulfilling political responsibility rather than inciting falsehoods with words is more for the people’s benefit in solving the severe inequality faced by disabled people."
