[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyungpil] Jeonnam Wando-gun announced on the 13th that it will hold the “2022 Clean Wando Autumn Island Travel” event under the theme of “Play Island Wando” from the 30th of this month to the 9th of next month.

The “2022 Clean Wando Autumn Island Travel” will be centered around four areas: Wando-eup, Cheongsando, Bogildo, and Saengildo, and various programs have been prepared to allow visitors to experience and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery and the charm of the clean Wando autumn islands.

In particular, from the planning stage, residents’ opinions were collected and the programs were composed with residents’ active participation, discovering content that aligns with recent travel trends.

As a main event, at the “Play Ground” set up around the Wando-eup Seaweed Center, residents of Wando-eup, Cheongsando, Bogildo, and Saengildo will operate the “Wando Island Tourism Office” to promote Wando’s tourism resources, run a market selling specialty products, and hold busking performances.

Additionally, there will be a yacht tour to enjoy the sunset and a reptile experience land operated at the Wando Arboretum.

In Cheongsando, a slow city, under the theme “Playing Slow,” plans include the Beombawi Star Gazing Tour, discovery of Cheongsando classics, harbor pojangmacha (street food stalls), and sunset walks.

Bogildo will hold events under the theme “Playing Elegance,” including a night opening of Seyonjeong Pavilion to enjoy its atmosphere under the moonlight, tastings of Bogildo’s traditional homemade liquor, and cultural performances of Gosan night stroll elegance.

Saengildo, the “Island You Want to Visit,” will hold events under the theme “Playing Newness,” including the “Happy Birthday to Me” event fitting the island’s name and island packing activities.

Also, a passport-style leaflet called the “Wando Island Passport” will be issued, and a “Island Visit Certification Event” will be prepared to provide prizes to tourists who visit Wando-eup, Cheongsando, Bogildo, and Saengildo.
