Monolabs and Cheongho Nice Establish Joint Venture 'HiPlanet' to Provide Integrated Online and Offline Healthcare
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Monolabs and Cheongho Nice announced on the 13th that they have established a joint venture (JV) called 'Hi Planet' to provide online-to-offline (O2O) healthcare services and develop a super application (app).
This joint venture was established to create synergy by combining Monolabs' digital healthcare service development capabilities with Cheongho Nice's nationwide offline sales infrastructure and other strengths of both companies.
The two companies plan to actively pursue new businesses that were difficult to enter independently through the development of a super app aimed at providing various O2O-based healthcare services. Kim Tae-wook, who oversaw digital infrastructure construction and transformation at Hanssem, was appointed as the CEO of the joint venture. A CTO from Coupang and IT specialist developers have also joined to accelerate service development.
CEO Kim said, "We must jointly address the issue of an increasing elderly population due to rapid aging and a declining younger generation. We are planning services that combine the efficiency of digital technology with the human touch of offline interactions to solve the pressing problems of an aging society. We intend to build services that consider both the MZ generation and senior citizens."
