Bodies Found One After Another on Ganghwado Island... Coast Guard "Identifying Exact Identities"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Following the rescue of a man in his 20s who was drifting near Ganghwa Island, Incheon, unidentified bodies have been found consecutively, prompting the Coast Guard to launch an investigation.
According to the Incheon Coast Guard on the 11th, around 1:46 PM the previous day, a fisherman discovered part of an unidentified body in the mudflats near Gwangseongbo, Bureun-myeon, Ganghwa-gun, and reported it to 119. The body, presumed to be male, was in a considerably decomposed state and was wearing pants and sneakers.
At approximately 3:13 PM on the same day, another body was found at Deokjinjin, about 2.3 km from Gwangseongbo. A fisherman reportedly found the body floating face down in the nearby sea and reported it to the police.
The fire department and Coast Guard are recovering the bodies found consecutively while deploying personnel to search for any remaining unidentified body parts. An autopsy has been requested from the National Forensic Service to accurately identify the bodies.

Meanwhile, on the 8th, a man in his 20s drifting near Ganghwa Island was rescued. According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Marine Corps 2nd Division secured the man’s custody around 1:47 AM on the Han River surface north of Ganghwa Island and handed him over to relevant authorities. Regional joint intelligence investigations identified him as a domestic resident, and since there were no indications of espionage, he was released to return home.
