Gogyeongae, Chairperson of Gwangju Seo-gu Council, Delivers Gifts to Welfare Center for Chuseok
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Ko Kyung-ae, Chairperson of the Seo-gu Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City, recently announced on the 8th that she visited home welfare centers in the district to deliver consolation gifts such as fruits and daily necessities in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.
Chairperson Ko listened to the difficulties and suggestions related to facility operations from the staff and promised to maintain continuous interest at the council level.
Chairperson Ko stated, “Due to the combined effects of the pandemic and the Ukraine war, soaring prices have made it urgent to improve the operating conditions of social welfare facilities,” adding, “The Seo-gu Council will seek institutional support measures to ensure these facilities can properly fulfill their role as a social safety net.”
Meanwhile, Chairperson Ko has personally practiced neighborly love for the underprivileged by visiting social welfare facilities in the district during the Chuseok and Lunar New Year holidays for over 10 years.
