At the policy coordination meeting that day, Park said, "I believe the prosecution will indict the opposition party leader and lawmakers today, one day before the Chuseok holiday."
He said, "They cover up the crimes of the living power and are scraping the bottom and even digging to the ends of the earth to fabricate crimes against the opposition," emphasizing, "Resisting the excessive and biased investigations by the Yoon Seok-yeol government is the way to strengthen democracy in the Republic of Korea."
He added, "The Yoon Seok-yeol administration, which should be giving the people hope for their livelihoods ahead of the already troubled and difficult Chuseok holiday, has only caused national division through political indictment attempts against the opposition party leader and lawmakers and by trampling on the separation of powers with decree tricks," and warned sternly, "'Yoon Seok-yeol prosecution' must stop political indictments immediately."
Park also said, "The late President Kim Dae-jung (DJ) said, 'A government that cannot control prices and cannot maintain public safety must give up power,' because 'the people need to make a living and have their lives and safety guaranteed.'"
