Kyungbok University to Admit 2,195 Students in 26 Departments Next Year... Applications Open from the 13th of This Month
[Asia Economy (Namyangju) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kyungbok University will begin the first round of early admission applications for the 2023 academic year starting on the 13th.
The number of new students to be recruited by Kyungbok University next year is a total of 2,195 across 26 departments. Among them, 1,788 are regular quota admissions, and 1,671 students, accounting for 93.5%, will be selected through early admission. In the first round of early admission, 1,480 students (82.8%) will be selected, 191 students (10.7%) in the second round of early admission, and 117 students (6.5%) in the regular admission. For non-quota admissions, 407 students will be selected in the first round of early admission.
Next year, Kyungbok University will establish new departments including Companion Animal Health, Safety and Health, Video Media Content, and Big Data. The Performing Arts department will be reorganized from a 2-year program to a 3-year program. Along with this, the reflection of student record grades will change for all departments except the Nursing and Health Care and Early Childhood Education departments, from the previous system of reflecting five semesters from the first semester of the first year to the first semester of the third year, to reflecting the best two semesters.
Regarding the schedule, the first round of early admission applications will be accepted from the 13th of this month until the 6th of next month, and interviews, including AI aptitude tests (AI interviews included), will be held from the 8th to the 12th of next month.
Additionally, for applicable departments, face-to-face interviews will be conducted on the 12th of next month, and practical exams will be held on the 14th of next month. All applicants must participate within the designated period. The second round of early admission will be from November 7th to 21st, and regular admission will be from December 29th to January 12th.
Kyungbok University offers scholarships for new students including Academic Excellence Scholarships, Regional Talent Scholarships, and 4th Industrial Revolution Talent Scholarships. The first type of Academic Excellence Scholarship provides full tuition for all years to those who are admitted for the first time with a student record grade within 1.5, and the second type provides full tuition for one year to those admitted for the first time with a grade within 2.0.
