KT Hosts 'AI Development Challenge' with 18 Million KRW Prize Money
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] KT announced on the 8th that it will hold an ‘AI Development Challenge’ until the 18th as part of creating an open AI ecosystem.
Anyone interested in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, including university (graduate) students and general developers, can participate individually or in teams of up to three members. Participants can download the application form from KT’s open AI research and development portal, Genie Labs, and apply.
The contest tasks are in three areas: ▲ fine-tuning named entity recognition based on the super-large T5 model ▲ predicting success or failure in mobile advertising auction bids ▲ designing a food image classification model.
The ‘fine-tuning named entity recognition based on the super-large T5 model’ task involves creating a language model that recognizes key keywords in sentences for KT’s AI Contact Center (AICC) and Giga Genie conversations. The ‘predicting success or failure in mobile advertising auction bids’ task uses data from a mobile advertising mediation platform to predict auction outcomes, and the ‘designing a food image classification model’ task involves designing a model that automatically recognizes food types, nutritional content, and calories.
KT will select nine teams as finalists through first-round preliminaries and second-round presentation evaluations, awarding a total prize of 18 million KRW to all winning teams along with preferential benefits when applying for employment at KT. The awards ceremony will be held on October 13.
