The ‘4 Major Violence & Harassment OUT! Day’ was established to raise awareness among all BPA employees about the four major types of violence?sexual harassment, prostitution, sexual violence, and domestic violence?as well as workplace harassment, and to foster consensus on eradicating violence.
On their way to work, employees were naturally encouraged to be alert and recognize the importance of violence and workplace harassment through joint labor-management placards created based on workplace cases.
The organization produced and distributed a prevention guidebook tailored to its current status, providing information on the definitions, cases, and prevention methods of the four major types of violence and workplace harassment.
During the afternoon special lecture, participation was also encouraged for employees of partner companies, including the Busan Port Facility Management Center and Busan Port Security Corporation.
Jung Eun-joo, a professional instructor from the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, introduced ▲criteria for judging workplace harassment ▲the four major types of violence from a gender equality perspective ▲steps for handling workplace sexual harassment cases ▲prevention of workplace harassment & violence and victim support.
Instructor Jung repeatedly emphasized, “Listening to each other is the way to stand against violence.”
After the lecture, a professional theater troupe from the Busan area was invited to present a play depicting common cases of sexual harassment in the workplace.
BPA conducts annual special lectures for all employees to eradicate and prevent workplace harassment and the four major types of violence, and operates a permanent reporting center for workplace harassment, sexual harassment, and sexual violence.
They also continue to promote awareness through social media targeting the general public, aiming to contribute to a societal shift in perception.
